Lines and Textures
As part of an experimental concept class, I was asked to draw, illustrate, render, or paint the same subject every day for two months. The topic that I was assigned was woodgrain, which could be interpreted in any number of ways visually. Many of the pieces are drawn with graphite, but as the project continued, the materials became more experimental and grains became more abstract. Some focus on the patterns the grain makes, others focus on the source of the wood.
Continued Practice
This set of drawings shows how practice can yeild a wide variety of results that would not otherwise exist if artists and designers continually edit their work. Very few of these turned out amazing, but working on something for an extended period of time makes for an interesting way to practice.
