Redesigned Packaging
When Bright Beam Goods became the new brand for MakeATX, the first product to get rebranded was the Mistaken Lyrics Coaster Sets, which are 4in coasters with misheard song lyrics etched onto the surface of the cork. Along with a taller box format for showing multiple coasters, the new packaging gave more room to display the contents of the set on the back label.
The colors for the sets were tweaked for commercial printing, a new typeface was created for the lyrics on the coasters and was used on the back label lyrics as well. Also, the icons and names for each theme were redesigned to be more uniform in appearance and shape. The front label sits on top of a bristol divider that separates the coasters and gives the label a white backdrop to make the colors stand out more.
The front label also wraps around the edge of the box so the name of set is visible from the side, like the spine of a book, making the sets distinguishable when stored on shelves. When in a display, the costers have small tabs to identify each song.
Point of Sale Display
The coaster display allows retailers to sell the coaster sets and loose coasters without taking up a large footprint in the store. Made from .125in birch plywood, the display ships flat and is assembled without glue at the store. The display gives customers the experience of flipping through the lyrics like records at a music store.
